Event Tent for Brand Pop-Up in Lyon France
A global beauty brand planned a three-day pop-up experience event in Lyon, France, located in the city's central square. LINGTONG provided a custom multi-faceted clear-top event tent with a column-free interior that could be flexibly divided into product display areas, interactive experience zones, and VIP reception spaces. The transparent PVC roof allowed abundant natural light during the day, while custom lighting systems created an immersive brand atmosphere at night.

Project Background
In early 2025, an international beauty brand planned a three-day pop-up experience event in Lyon, located in the city's central square, Place Bellecour. The brand had organized similar events in other cities using traditional white tents, but this location presented unique challenges. Place Bellecour is one of Europe's largest pedestrian squares, surrounded by 18th- and 19th-century historical buildings. The local urban planning department imposed clear restrictions on temporary structures — they must not obstruct historical building facades, could not use plain white fabric, and overall height was limited to the ground-floor level of surrounding buildings.

The brand reached out to LINGTONG through a referral and outlined several core requirements:
Event space of approximately 600-650 square meters
Column-free interior
A translucent roof to allow natural daylight and create dramatic nighttime lighting effects
A design aesthetic that aligned with the brand's identity, not just a standard white tent
Ability to withstand spring weather, including gusty winds and rain
Zero damage to the square's surface during installation and removal
The brand had previously approached two other tent suppliers. One offered standard sizes with limited customization; the other proposed printing the brand logo on standard fabric. Neither option met the brand's expectations — they wanted not just a tent with a logo, but a temporary architectural space that could convey the brand's premium identity.
Design Consultation and Approval
After receiving the brief, LINGTONG delivered an initial design proposal and 3D renderings within one week.
Considering the historical surroundings, LINGTONG proposed a multi-faceted form instead of a standard rectangular tent — the overall footprint remained square, but each elevation was composed of multiple folded planes that created rich light and shadow effects. This approach softened the visual weight of the structure, making it read more like a temporary installation than a solid building.
The roof used high-transparency clear PVC. The brand was particularly interested in two lighting conditions: during the day, natural light diffused evenly through the roof, eliminating the need for additional artificial lighting; at night, custom brand-colored lighting projected through the roof and faceted walls turned the tent into a glowing landmark on the square.
The interior was column-free, allowing the 625㎡ space to be flexibly partitioned. The placement of partition walls and lighting layouts were reviewed and confirmed with the brand in three rounds of discussions before production began.
Once the multi-faceted design was approved, LINGTONG moved into detailed engineering and manufacturing.

Production and Delivery
After design finalization, LINGTONG began production:
Aluminum frames were fabricated to specifications and finished with white powder coating
Clear PVC fabric was precision-cut to match the multi-faceted geometry
Partition systems, lighting circuits, and ballast blocks were prepared simultaneously
All components underwent factory pre-assembly to verify fit before being disassembled and packed
Upon completion, all components were loaded into shipping containers and dispatched by sea to France. The LINGTONG on-site team received the shipment upon arrival and coordinated installation.
On-Site Installation
The installation window at Place Bellecour was limited to just 48 hours — access was permitted after 10 PM on Friday, and the site had to be cleared by 6 AM on Monday.
The LINGTONG installation team arrived in Lyon ahead of schedule. After the cargo arrived, work commenced immediately. A ballasted anchoring system was used: each column base was fitted with custom cast-iron weights and industrial rubber pads to evenly distribute the load, avoiding any penetration of the square's surface.
Since all components had been pre-assembled at the factory, on-site work consisted solely of modular assembly. The entire installation was completed in 32 hours — 16 hours ahead of the deadline.
Event Operation and Dismantling
The three-day event proceeded without interruption. The tent interior simultaneously accommodated product displays, interactive experiences, and VIP receptions. The 625㎡ column-free space fully contained all functional zones, with partition and lighting configurations exactly as confirmed before delivery — no on-site adjustments were needed.
During the event, a brief but strong wind gust passed through the square. The tent remained stable and unaffected.
After the event, dismantling took just 2 hours. Once the ballast blocks were removed, the square surface showed no marks or damage.
Client Feedback
"LINGTONG solved a very practical problem for us — how to create a temporary space on a historic square that complies with planning regulations while still conveying our brand's premium identity. The multi-faceted design made the tent feel visually lighter, and the clear roof's daylight performance exceeded our expectations. Most importantly, the design-to-delivery process was smooth — all details were confirmed before production, and on-site assembly was purely a matter of following the plan. No issues occurred during the event."
